Over the past few months we've gotten many requests for Linux
Collaboration Services, which for my purposes is a solution that
bundles email, calendaring, tasks, and perhaps other features.
Exchange is synonymous with collaboration on Windows, but what is there
in the Open Source world? This turns out to be a very good question

While I am new to the world of Open Source, I am no stranger to the usefulness of technology in today's workforce. Most small to mid sized businesses are using either too powerful, overly costly pre-packaged software or too simple, pieced together software that is stretching too its limits. I came from a company that was in the second category, and everyday we would come to work waiting for the our systems to crash around us. We would routinely be locked out of our system for hours, and the down-time waste was everywhere. Despite all of this, I was unaware of most of the Open Source Solutions out on the market that could have assisted us in growing as a company and taking the next step to greatness.
I am hoping to get the opportunity to help other small business out there find a solution that works for them and allows them to grow to the next level!
Time flies and it's already July! A few weeks ago on June 20th and 21st, the Qwest Field Events Center hosted the ITEC Seattle 2007. There were a diverse crowd of vendors and consumers alike, and a great opportunity to geek out with the high-powered information gurus and afficianados of Seattle.

John has been going to such events for years and pointed this one out to me, thinking it would be an interesting topic for us.
As it turned out, he was quite right. I thought it was excellent.

In rereading my review from last week on LinuxFest NW 2007, I admit to being a little disappointed in my own entry. Not that I regret anything I said. But I had a bit of a mixed message. I started off saying I wanted to meet more open source experts there, then supported that by saying there wasn't enough pizazz at the event. (?!) Confusing. Furthermore, I did not praise the LinuxFest event that much. I mostly complained about there not being, as I said, enough pizazz. So let me continue....
